The market value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the largest base station supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Denmark ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Norway, with a 15% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Sweden stood at -25.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (-2.3% per year) and Norway (+10.7% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 26%. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 57%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, base station imports fell notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a sharp decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 8.1% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Denmark was the main importer of base stations in Scandinavia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. 58% of total imports in 2021. Finland (X tons) held a 28% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Sweden (7.6%) and Norway (4.7%).

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to base station imports into Denmark stood at +4.9%. At the same time, Finland (+10.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Import Prices by Country

The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -34.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by 29% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
