In value terms, book and brochure exports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Sweden (X units) was the main exporter of books, brochures and similar printed matter, generating 74% of total exports. Finland (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 16% share, followed by Norway (10%).

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to book and brochure exports from Sweden stood at -9.5%. Norway (-4.7%) and Finland (-15.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Sweden (+6.6 p.p.) and Norway (+4.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Finland saw its share reduced by -11.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 10%.
