Brassiere Market Size in Scandinavia

The Scandinavia brassiere market expanded significantly to $X in 2021, surging by 12% against the previous year. In general, consumption saw a perceptible decrease. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Sweden dominates exports structure, finishing at X units, which was near 87% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Norway (X units), creating a 9.5% share of total exports. Finland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to brassiere exports from Sweden stood at -1.1%. At the same time, Norway (+5.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Norway emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Scandinavia, with a CAGR of +5.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Finland (-14.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In Sweden, brassiere exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Norway (+4.2% per year) and Finland (-9.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per unit, surging by 7% against the previous year. Export price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, brassiere export price increased by +98.5% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 51%. Imports in Scandinavia

In 2021, the amount of brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated imported in Scandinavia reduced to X units, declining by -5.4% against 2020 figures. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 2.7% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, brassiere imports expanded notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a slight slump. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Sweden was the main importer of brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated in Scandinavia, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 56% of total imports in 2021. Norway (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 28% share, followed by Finland (16%).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Sweden (with a CAGR of -1.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 14% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per unit), while Sweden ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
