As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, vapour power unit imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 899% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Finland was the key importing country with an import of about X tons, which resulted at 54% of total imports. Sweden (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 25% share, followed by Norway (11%) and Denmark (8.6%).

Among the main importing countries, Denmark, with a CAGR of +55.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 64% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 697% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
