In value terms, fluorspar exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +73.2% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Finland (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) dominates exports structure, together constituting 96% of total exports. Norway (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Finland (with a CAGR of +58.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the largest fluorspar supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 82% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Finland ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.

In Sweden, fluorspar exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Finland (+62.0% per year) and Norway (+33.5% per year).

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 45%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Norway was the key importer of fluorspar in Scandinavia, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 45% of total imports in 2021. Finland (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 23% share, followed by Denmark (18%) and Sweden (14%).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Finland (with a CAGR of -0.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In value terms, Norway ($X), Finland ($X) and Sweden ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 98% of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Sweden, with a CAGR of +3.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In 2021, the import price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
