Total exports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +73.4% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 26%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, leather footwear exports reached $X in 2021. Total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +104.6% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Sweden prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was near 83% of total exports in 2021. Finland (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Norway (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 17% share of total exports.

Exports from Sweden increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Norway (+8.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Norway emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Scandinavia, with a CAGR of +8.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Finland (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Sweden (+11 p.p.) and Norway (+2.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Finland (-13.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the largest leather footwear supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Finland ($X), with an 8.4% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Sweden amounted to +8.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Finland (-7.2% per year) and Norway (+13.2% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per kg, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. Over the period under review, imports showed a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 7.2% against the previous year.
