In 2022, the Scandinavia animal guts market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The export price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 64% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while Finland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+0.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, imports of guts, bladders and stomachs of animals in Scandinavia totaled X tons, surging by 3% compared with 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, animal guts imports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
