The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mechanical wood pulp imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 121% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Sweden dominates imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. 96% of total imports in 2022. The following importers - Norway (X tons) and Finland (X tons) - each finished at a 4.1% share of total imports.

Imports into Sweden decreased at an average annual rate of -2.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Norway (+3.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Norway emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Scandinavia, with a CAGR of +3.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Finland (-21.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
