The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 152% against the previous year. Sweden dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 92% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Norway (X tons), mixing up a 7.2% share of total exports.

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters increased by 49% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 65%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Sweden represented the main importer of oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters in Scandinavia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. 54% of total imports in 2021.
