In general, imports recorded a strong expansion. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, optical telescope imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 187% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Sweden represented the main importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded 62% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Denmark (X units), Norway (X units) and Finland (X units), together comprising a 38% share of total imports.
Sweden was also the fastest-growing in terms of the optical telescopes imports, with a CAGR of +18.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Denmark (+14.3%) and Norway (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Finland (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Sweden amounted to +28.2%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Denmark (+17.9% per year) and Norway (+1.6% per year).
