The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption increased by +41.0% against 2019 indices. The level of consumption peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at X square meters in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, exports of PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings shrank modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 9.6%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Sweden dominates coverings structure, resulting at X square meters, which was approx. 97% of total exports in 2022. Finland (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Finland (-2.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the largest PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 97% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Finland ($X), with a 1.9% share of total exports.

In Sweden, exports of PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022.

The export price in Scandinavia stood at $X per square meter in 2022, rising by 4.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a mild decrease. For the eleventh consecutive year, Scandinavia recorded growth in purchases abroad of PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings, which increased by 1.9% to X square meters in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings amounted to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.4% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, Sweden (X square meters) represented the key importer of PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings, comprising 52% of total imports. Finland (X square meters) took a 29% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Norway (19%).

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Finland (with a CAGR of +15.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Sweden ($X), Finland ($X) and Norway ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022.

Among the main importing countries, Finland, with a CAGR of +10.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per square meter, surging by 1.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 8.1%. The level of import peaked at $X per square meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per square meter), while Sweden ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (-3.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
