Reclaimed Rubber Market Size in Scandinavia

Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 184%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, reclaimed rubber exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, faced a deep downturn. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Denmark (X tons) represented roughly 98% of total exports in 2021.
Denmark was also the fastest-growing in terms of the reclaimed rubber exports, with a CAGR of -18.9% from 2012 to 2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Denmark ($X) also remains the largest reclaimed rubber supplier in Scandinavia.
In Denmark, reclaimed rubber exports declined by an average annual rate of -24.9% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per ton, declining by -32.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 114% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Denmark.
From 2012 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Denmark amounted to -7.3% per year.
Reclaimed Rubber Imports
Imports in Scandinavia
In 2021, reclaimed rubber imports in Scandinavia soared to X tons, with an increase of 75% against 2020 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 81%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, reclaimed rubber imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a deep reduction. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the four major importers of reclaimed rubber, namely Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Iceland (X tons), mixing up a 6.9% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Finland (with a CAGR of +17.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
In value terms, the largest reclaimed rubber importing markets in Scandinavia were Sweden ($X), Finland ($X) and Norway ($X), with a combined 76% share of total imports.
Finland, with a CAGR of +24.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 12% against the previous year. Import price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, reclaimed rubber import price decreased by -16.7% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 75%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+11.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
