The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, textile tubing exports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 85%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Norway represented the key exporter of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing in Scandinavia, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was approx. 84% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Sweden (X tons), mixing up a 15% share of total exports.

Norway was also the fastest-growing in terms of the textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing exports, with a CAGR of +4.8% from 2012 to 2022. Sweden experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Norway (+9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Sweden saw its share reduced by -7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Norway ($X) remains the largest textile tubing supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sweden ($X), with a 22% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Norway totaled +1.6%.

The export price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 9.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Norway totaled $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+8.2%).

In 2022, overseas purchases of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing increased by 20% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, imports posted a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, textile tubing imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +28.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 59%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Sweden represented the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which recorded 58% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Norway (X tons) and Finland (X tons), together comprising a 42% share of total imports.

Sweden was also the fastest-growing in terms of the textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing imports, with a CAGR of +14.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Finland (+4.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Norway experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Sweden (+29 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Finland (-4.4 p.p.) and Norway (-25.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Sweden ($X), Norway ($X) and Finland ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022.

Sweden, with a CAGR of +12.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while Finland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+1.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
