The Scandinavia truck crane market soared to $X in 2021, rising by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a mild contraction. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of truck cranes increased by 20% to X units in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 31%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, truck crane exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 83%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Norway (X units), Finland (X units) and Sweden (X units) was the main exporter of truck cranes in Scandinavia, comprising 81% of total export. Denmark (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 12% share, followed by Iceland (7.8%).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Iceland (with a CAGR of +12.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest truck crane supplying countries in Scandinavia were Finland ($X), Norway ($X) and Sweden ($X), with a combined 86% share of total exports. Denmark and Iceland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 14%.

Among the main exporting countries, Denmark, with a CAGR of +9.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per unit, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per unit), while Iceland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (-0.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of truck cranes was finally on the rise to reach X units after three years of decline. Total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, truck crane imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Finland (X units) and Sweden (X units) represented the main importers of truck cranes in 2021, recording approx. 34% and 29% of total imports, respectively. Norway (X units) took a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Denmark (13%) and Iceland (5.7%).

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +23.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Sweden ($X), Norway ($X) and Denmark ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 82% share of total imports.

Denmark, with a CAGR of +29.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 18%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per unit), while Finland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
