In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the largest vegetable puree supplier in Scandinavia, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Finland ($X), with a 16% share of total exports.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while Sweden amounted to $X per ton.

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of vegetable puree decreased by -15.8% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, vegetable puree imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Sweden prevails in imports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 92% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Finland (X tons), achieving a 5.1% share of total imports. Norway (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Sweden experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of vegetable puree. Norway (-7.5%) and Finland (-7.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Sweden (+9.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Norway (-3.4 p.p.) and Finland (-6.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Sweden ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported vegetable puree in Scandinavia, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Finland ($X), with an 8.1% share of total imports.

In Sweden, vegetable puree imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Finland (-8.3% per year) and Norway (-8.8% per year).

In 2022, the import price in Scandinavia amounted to $X per ton, rising by 7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (-0.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
