The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, vulcanised rubber thread imports declined to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Sweden (X tons) was the major importer of vulcanised rubber thread and cord, making up 66% of total imports. Denmark (X tons) held a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Finland (8.5%) and Norway (6.6%).
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to vulcanised rubber thread imports into Sweden stood at -17.0%. At the same time, Norway (+9.4%), Finland (+4.3%) and Denmark (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth.
