In 2021, x-ray tube exports in Scandinavia amounted to X units, growing by 7.4% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 182% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, x-ray tube exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Denmark, with a CAGR of +59.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Scandinavia stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 8.5% against the previous year. Export price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, x-ray tube export price increased by +26.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the export price increased by 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per unit), while Norway ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Scandinavia

In 2021, the amount of x-ray tubes imported in Scandinavia skyrocketed to X units, rising by 42% against 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, x-ray tube imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Denmark (X units) was the key importer of x-ray tubes, constituting 60% of total imports. Sweden (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Finland (X units) and Norway (X units). All these countries together took near 39% share of total imports. Iceland (X units) held a little share of total imports.

Denmark was also the fastest-growing in terms of the x-ray tubes imports, with a CAGR of +27.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Iceland (+21.1%) and Sweden (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Norway experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, Denmark ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported x-ray tubes in Scandinavia, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Finland ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Sweden, with a 20% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Denmark amounted to +12.8%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Finland (-4.2% per year) and Sweden (-1.3% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Scandinavia stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -12.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 9.4%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
