In value terms, table-tennis equipment exports rose notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 1,094% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for table-tennis equipment exports from Serbia, with a 94% share of total exports. Moreover, table-tennis equipment exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Montenegro (X kg), with a 0.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States amounted to +72.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (-6.6% per year) and Montenegro (-20.7% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for articles and equipment for table-tennis exports from Serbia, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), with a 2.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Montenegro, with a 1.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States totaled +60.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (-14.2% per year) and Montenegro (-12.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average table-tennis equipment export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 7.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 170% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Montenegro (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Serbia

Table-tennis equipment imports into Serbia declined to X tons in 2022, shrinking by -13.2% against the previous year. Overall, imports recorded a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 59%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, table-tennis equipment imports fell to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 45%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell modestly in the following year.

Imports by Country

Germany (X tons), China (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) were the main suppliers of table-tennis equipment imports to Serbia, with a combined 88% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Portugal (with a CAGR of +178.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Germany ($X) and Portugal ($X) constituted the largest table-tennis equipment suppliers to Serbia, together accounting for 83% of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, Portugal, with a CAGR of +186.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, table-tennis equipment import price increased by +77.9% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
