Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), Croatia (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main destinations of chili and pepper exports from Serbia, together comprising 75% of total exports.

In value terms, the largest markets for chili and pepper exported from Serbia were Croatia ($X), Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) and Slovenia ($X), together comprising 75% of total exports. Slovakia, Montenegro, Hungary, Germany and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.

In 2022, the average chili and pepper export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 8.4% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, chili and pepper export price increased by +43.4% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 38%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+12.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Serbia
In 2022, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of chilies and peppers (green), when their volume decreased by -19.5% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, chili and pepper imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Albania (X tons), North Macedonia (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of chili and pepper imports to Serbia, together accounting for 78% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Albania (with a CAGR of +53.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Albania ($X), Turkey ($X) and Greece ($X) appeared to be the largest chili and pepper suppliers to Serbia, with a combined 67% share of total imports.
