In value terms, duck and goose meat exports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 1,212% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

Hungary (X kg) was the main destination for duck and goose meat exports from Serbia, with a approx. 100% share of total exports.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Hungary.

Overall, imports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 123%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.

In value terms, duck and goose meat imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 132%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Hungary (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of duck and goose meat to Serbia, with a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, duck and goose meat imports from Hungary exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), threefold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Hungary amounted to +6.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+114.6% per year) and Bulgaria (+4.4% per year).

In value terms, Hungary ($X) constituted the largest supplier of duck and goose meat to Serbia, comprising 70% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 14% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Hungary amounted to +20.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+90.6% per year) and Bulgaria (+21.7% per year).

In 2022, the average duck and goose meat import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
