The exports peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, glass ampoules exports declined notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 502%. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Japan (X units) and Montenegro (X units) were the main destinations of glass ampoules exports from Serbia.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+30.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Serbia

In 2022, imports of glass ampoules for packing of goods into Serbia dropped to X units, which is down by -14.6% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +105.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 141%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, glass ampoules imports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 154%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

In 2022, Croatia (X units) constituted the largest glass ampoules supplier to Serbia, with a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, glass ampoules imports from Croatia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hungary (X units), threefold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Croatia stood at +3.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (-1.6% per year) and Germany (+74.9% per year).

In value terms, Croatia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass ampoules for packing of goods to Serbia, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 28% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Croatia amounted to +1.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (-0.3% per year) and Germany (+58.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average glass ampoules import price amounted to $X per thousand units, growing by 2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 5.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per thousand units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per thousand units), while the price for Croatia ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
