Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Serbia
In 2022, overseas purchases of glass stoppers, lids and other closures increased by 90% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight curtailment. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, glass closure imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate mild growth. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of glass closure to Serbia, accounting for a 90% share of total imports. Moreover, glass closure imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-7.2% per year) and the Czech Republic (-12.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass stoppers, lids and other closures to Serbia, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 22% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-1.5% per year) and the Czech Republic (+3.7% per year).

In 2022, the average glass closure import price amounted to $X per ton, waning by -5.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a measured expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 65%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+18.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
