Injection-Moulding Machine Market Size in Serbia

The Serbian injection-moulding machine market declined significantly to $X in 2022, which is down by -26.4% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of injection-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics, when their volume decreased by -35.8% to X units. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 121%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, injection-moulding machine exports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 304%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then declined notably in the following year.

Montenegro (X units), Germany (X units) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) were the main destinations of injection-moulding machine exports from Serbia, with a combined 47% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Montenegro (with a CAGR of +500.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), Germany ($X) and Algeria ($X) constituted the largest markets for injection-moulding machine exported from Serbia worldwide, with a combined 69% share of total exports. Hungary, Slovakia, Montenegro, Mexico, Denmark, Poland, Croatia, Italy, Albania and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.

Among the main countries of destination, Montenegro, with a CAGR of +409.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average injection-moulding machine export price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 29% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 226%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+63.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Serbia

In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of injection-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics, when their volume decreased by -9.2% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a moderate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, injection-moulding machine imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 84%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), China (X units) and Austria (X units) were the main suppliers of injection-moulding machine imports to Serbia, together comprising 70% of total imports. Italy, Hungary, France and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +35.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Austria ($X), China ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest injection-moulding machine suppliers to Serbia, with a combined 75% share of total imports. Italy, Hungary, Switzerland and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.

Over the period under review, the import price showed a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the price for Germany ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+37.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
