The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 237% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

Montenegro (X units), Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) and Romania (X units) were the main destinations of leather sports gloves exports from Serbia, with a combined 92% share of total exports. Croatia and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.4%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by North Macedonia (with a CAGR of +49.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for leather sports gloves exported from Serbia were Montenegro ($X), Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) and Romania ($X), together accounting for 90% of total exports. North Macedonia and Croatia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 8.4%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, North Macedonia, with a CAGR of +61.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average leather sports gloves export price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Serbia

In 2022, the amount of leather sports gloves, mittens and mitts imported into Serbia shrank dramatically to X units, declining by -39.8% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a slight expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 54%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, leather sports gloves imports fell notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a tangible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 53%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Pakistan (X units) constituted the largest leather sports gloves supplier to Serbia, with a 75% share of total imports. Moreover, leather sports gloves imports from Pakistan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), fivefold. France (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Pakistan totaled +1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+0.2% per year) and France (+37.0% per year).

In value terms, Pakistan ($X) constituted the largest supplier of leather sports gloves, mittens and mitts to Serbia, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 3.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Pakistan totaled +3.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+1.8% per year) and France (+33.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average leather sports gloves import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 1.6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the price for India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
