Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, men knitwear exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

France (X units), Italy (X units) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) were the main destinations of men knitwear exports from Serbia, with a combined 60% share of total exports. Spain, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Russia, Switzerland, Germany and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +241.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 193% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Bangladesh (X units), Turkey (X units) and Myanmar (X units) were the main suppliers of men knitwear imports to Serbia, together comprising 75% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +155.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
