Motor Grader Market Size in Serbia

The Serbian motor grader market fell dramatically to $X in 2022, which is down by -59.1% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, motor grader exports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 2,151% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Montenegro (X units), Belgium (X units) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) were the main destinations of motor grader exports from Serbia, with a combined 99.9% share of total exports. Moreover, motor grader exports in Montenegro exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest exporter, Belgium, twofold.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Montenegro (with a CAGR of +19.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) remains the key foreign market for motor graders and levellers exports from Serbia, comprising 58% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Montenegro ($X), with a 24% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled +61.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Montenegro (+54.4% per year) and Belgium (+25.0% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 2,151%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Montenegro ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, Germany (X units) constituted the largest motor grader supplier to Serbia, accounting for a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, motor grader imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), eightfold. In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of motor graders and levellers to Serbia, comprising 57% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany stood at +78.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+30.9% per year) and China (+22.9% per year).

The average motor grader import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -22.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 142% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while the price for Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
