The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 14%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X litres), Albania (X litres) and North Macedonia (X litres) were the main destinations of non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports from Serbia, together accounting for 59% of total exports.

In 2022, approx. X litres of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk were imported into Serbia; with an increase of 19% on the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 168%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2022, Romania (X litres) constituted the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk supplier to Serbia, accounting for a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports from Romania exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Bosnia and Herzegovina (X litres), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Croatia (X litres), with a 7.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Romania stood at +222.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bosnia and Herzegovina (+27.0% per year) and Croatia (+12.3% per year).
In value terms, Romania ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk to Serbia, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Croatia ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Romania amounted to +190.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Croatia (+14.9% per year) and Germany (+27.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk stood at $X per litre in 2022, growing by 3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per litre), while the price for North Macedonia ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
