The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 196%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons) and Croatia (X tons) were the main destinations of prepared additives for cements exports from Serbia, together comprising 57% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of +124.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Serbia

For the third year in a row, Serbia recorded growth in purchases abroad of prepared additives for cements, mortars or concretes, which increased by 7.4% to X tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +26.1% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, prepared additives for cements imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Italy (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main suppliers of prepared additives for cements imports to Serbia, together comprising 53% of total imports. The average prepared additives for cements import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 7.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 23% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
