In 2022, overseas shipments of stamps for use in the hand increased by 68% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, exports recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 179% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, hand stamp exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 127%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units) was the main destination for hand stamp exports from Serbia, with a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, hand stamp exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Montenegro (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Romania (X units), with a 4.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany amounted to +32.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Montenegro (-0.8% per year) and Romania (+47.3% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for stamps for use in the hand exports from Serbia, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Montenegro ($X), with a 26% share of total exports. It was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 2.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at +37.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Montenegro (-3.9% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (-11.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average hand stamp export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -25.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 47%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Serbia

For the third consecutive year, Serbia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of stamps for use in the hand, which increased by 41% to X units in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 58% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, hand stamp imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +59.4% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 59% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of hand stamp to Serbia, with a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, hand stamp imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X units), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), with a 6.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +27.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (-3.1% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+25.8% per year).

In value terms, the largest hand stamp suppliers to Serbia were China ($X), Austria ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a combined 74% share of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, China, with a CAGR of +28.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average hand stamp import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -16.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 15%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
