Artificial Corundum Market Size in Singapore

After two years of decline, the Singaporean artificial corundum market increased by 111% to $X in 2021. Overall, the total consumption indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The Netherlands (X tons) was the main destination for artificial corundum exports from Singapore, with a 48% share of total exports. Moreover, artificial corundum exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Indonesia (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), with a 17% share.

The average artificial corundum export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -33.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 324% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Overall, total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +87.4% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
