Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 124% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Indonesia (X tons), China (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the main suppliers of bridge imports to Singapore, together accounting for 87% of total imports. The Netherlands, Turkey, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.4%.
