The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, chicken meat exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a prominent expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Maldives (X tons), Oman (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the main destinations of chicken meat exports from Singapore, with a combined 64% share of total exports.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 20%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, chicken meat imports fell slightly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 9.3%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined modestly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of chicken meat to Singapore, accounting for a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, chicken meat imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Thailand (X tons), with a 5.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Brazil amounted to +3.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-6.3% per year) and Thailand (+249.1% per year).
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constituted the largest supplier of chicken meat to Singapore, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 6.7% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 6.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Brazil was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+242.9% per year) and the United States (-11.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average chicken meat import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 8.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 12%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while the price for the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
