The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 84%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Indonesia (X tons) was the main destination for exports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres from Singapore, accounting for a 99% share of total exports. It was followed by China (X tons), with a 1.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Indonesia totaled +2.7%.

Overall, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 345%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, leveling off in the following year.
In value terms, imports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres expanded slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 461%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Indonesia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibre to Singapore, accounting for a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres from Indonesia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Malaysia (X tons), with a 7.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Indonesia amounted to +47.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+15.1% per year) and Malaysia (+0.0% per year).
In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres to Singapore, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 5.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Indonesia stood at +59.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+18.8% per year) and Malaysia (-0.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres amounted to $X per ton, growing by 3.3% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
