In 2022, the amount of heat exchange units exported from Singapore reduced to X units, waning by -8.1% on 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, heat exchange unit exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Japan (X units) was the main destination for heat exchange unit exports from Singapore, accounting for a 27% share of total exports. Moreover, heat exchange unit exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X units), twofold. Malaysia (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Japan totaled +65.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+13.1% per year) and Malaysia (+12.7% per year).

In value terms, heat exchange unit imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight downturn.
