Jewelry Market Size in Singapore
The Singaporean jewelry market surged to $X in 2021, increasing by 121% against the previous year. In general, consumption recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Jewelry consumption peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Singapore
In 2021, shipments abroad of jewelry increased by 50% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, exports, however, saw a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 94%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, jewelry exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a mild reduction. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The United States (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Australia (X tons) were the main destinations of jewelry exports from Singapore, with a combined 45% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Qatar, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR, Switzerland, Thailand and Bangladesh, which together accounted for a further 39%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Qatar (with a CAGR of +99.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for jewelry exported from Singapore were the United States ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Qatar ($X), with a combined 52% share of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Qatar, with a CAGR of +104.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average jewelry export price amounted to $X per kg, picking up by 9.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate moderate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 60%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per kg. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per kg), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($X per kg) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+23.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Singapore
After four years of decline, supplies from abroad of jewelry increased by 78% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, jewelry imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 127%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

France (X tons), India (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the main suppliers of jewelry imports to Singapore, with a combined 49% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in India (with a CAGR of +12.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X), Malaysia ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the largest jewelry suppliers to Singapore, with a combined 60% share of total imports.
France, with a CAGR of +27.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average jewelry import price stood at $X per kg in 2021, dropping by -17.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a buoyant increase. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
