The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 29%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Japan (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of malt extract and food preparations of flour, meal, and starches from Singapore, together comprising 53% of total exports. Sri Lanka, Thailand, Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Ghana, the United States, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Hong Kong SAR lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.
