Mattress Support Market Size in Singapore

In 2021, the Singaporean mattress support market decreased by -13.8% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, consumption, however, showed a resilient increase. Mattress support consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, mattress support exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a deep slump. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Indonesia (X units) was the main destination for mattress support exports from Singapore, with a 37% share of total exports. Moreover, mattress support exports to Indonesia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Japan (X units), threefold. China (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 10% share.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of mattress supports decreased by -20.2% to X units in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, mattress support imports declined slightly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 75%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped modestly in the following year.

Malaysia (X units), China (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of mattress support imports to Singapore, together comprising 90% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +33.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
