In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, overseas purchases of self-adhesive paper and paperboard were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 43%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, self-adhesive paper imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt contraction. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Malaysia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of self-adhesive paper imports to Singapore, together accounting for 60% of total imports.
