Circuit breaker exports from Slovakia contracted slightly to X units in 2022, dropping by -2.2% against the previous year's figure. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, circuit breaker exports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 50%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
The Czech Republic (X units), Slovenia (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main destinations of circuit breaker exports from Slovakia, together comprising 46% of total exports. Sweden, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Singapore, Indonesia, Denmark and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +209.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Lithuania ($X) and Poland ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for circuit breaker exported from Slovakia worldwide, with a combined 33% share of total exports. Slovenia, Indonesia, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Russia, France, Singapore and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 51%.
Indonesia, with a CAGR of +219.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average circuit breaker export price amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -29.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 47%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Slovakia
In 2022, overseas purchases of automatic circuit breakers increased by 10% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +30.6% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, circuit breaker imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +58.7% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 37%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), China (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main suppliers of circuit breaker imports to Slovakia, together comprising 41% of total imports. Poland, Romania, France, Serbia, Hungary, Sweden, Bulgaria, Italy, India and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 48%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +58.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest circuit breaker suppliers to Slovakia were Germany ($X), China ($X) and Romania ($X), with a combined 39% share of total imports. The Czech Republic, France, Poland, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.
Among the main suppliers, Serbia, with a CAGR of +43.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average circuit breaker import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 36%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per unit), while the price for India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
