In 2022, supplies from abroad of chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa increased by 6.6% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, chocolate imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion.
