In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Slovak diagnostic equipment market, when its value decreased by -12.3% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -31.8% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 35% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, diagnostic equipment exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 69%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Iraq (X units), Belgium (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main destinations of diagnostic equipment exports from Slovakia.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The Czech Republic (X units), Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of diagnostic equipment imports to Slovakia.
