In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices, when their volume decreased by -22.8% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 117%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.

In value terms, mixed juices exports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 222%. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

Exports by Country

The Czech Republic (X tons) was the main destination for mixed juices exports from Slovakia, accounting for a 83% share of total exports. Moreover, mixed juices exports to the Czech Republic exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hungary (X tons), tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X tons), with a 5.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the Czech Republic amounted to +9.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (+2.0% per year) and Poland (+180.8% per year).

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the key foreign market for mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices exports from Slovakia, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hungary ($X), with a 6.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 4.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the Czech Republic totaled +13.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (+7.1% per year) and Poland (+201.1% per year).

In 2022, the average mixed juices export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 8.6% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mixed juices export price increased by +13.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 80%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after ten years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices, when their volume decreased by -18.8% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, mixed juices imports dropped significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main suppliers of mixed juices imports to Slovakia, with a combined 65% share of total imports. Austria, Spain, Serbia and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Serbia (with a CAGR of +23.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Serbia, with a CAGR of +32.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average mixed juices import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -15.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
