Furnace Burner Market Size in Slovakia

The Slovak furnace burner market dropped slightly to $X in 2021, waning by -1.8% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In general, consumption, however, posted a resilient increase. Furnace burner consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.

In 2021, after four years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers, when their volume increased by 331% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt setback. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, furnace burner exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 405% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for furnace burner exports from Slovakia, accounting for a 84% share of total exports. Moreover, furnace burner exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X tons), more than tenfold. Ukraine (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany amounted to +60.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+0.7% per year) and Ukraine (-16.6% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers exports from Slovakia, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 5.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Ukraine, with a 4.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany totaled +21.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (-3.9% per year) and Ukraine (-5.8% per year).

The average furnace burner export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -43.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+43.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers decreased by -1.4% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -11.4% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner imports rose slightly to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +101.4% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of furnace burner imports to Slovakia, together accounting for 94% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +77.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers to Slovakia, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 19% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany amounted to +13.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+67.1% per year) and Italy (+9.8% per year).

In 2021, the average furnace burner import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 14%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Denmark ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
