In value terms, inedible fish products exports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 900%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The Czech Republic (X tons) was the main destination for inedible fish products exports from Slovakia, with a 68% share of total exports. Moreover, inedible fish products exports to the Czech Republic exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tons), twofold. Bulgaria (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the Czech Republic amounted to +47.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+20.1% per year) and Bulgaria (-30.3% per year).
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for inedible fish products exports from Slovakia, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 4.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 4.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the Czech Republic stood at +35.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (-1.0% per year) and Italy (-98.6% per year).

In 2022, the average inedible fish products export price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -6.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average export price increased by 198% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+1,020.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Slovakia
In 2022, the amount of inedible fish products imported into Slovakia stood at X tons, leveling off at 2021 figures. Overall, imports recorded a precipitous contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 78%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, inedible fish products imports totaled $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 71% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of inedible fish products to Slovakia, accounting for a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, inedible fish products imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), tenfold. Estonia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 1.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +127.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+14.7% per year) and Estonia (+31.9% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of inedible fish products to Slovakia, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Estonia, with a 2.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia amounted to +86.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+22.6% per year) and Estonia (+39.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average inedible fish products import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
