Paddy Rice Market Size in Slovakia

Romania (X tons) was the main destination for paddy rice exports from Slovakia, with a 70% share of total exports. Moreover, paddy rice exports to Romania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hungary (X kg), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Czech Republic (X kg), with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Romania amounted to +17.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (-57.7% per year) and the Czech Republic (-14.9% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Romania totaled +38.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hungary (-51.2% per year) and the Czech Republic (+4.3% per year).

In 2021, the average paddy rice export price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -18% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 438% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 121%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, paddy rice imports shrank to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 107% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
