In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Slovak pimenta pepper market, when its value decreased by -26.7% to $X. In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of pimenta pepper, when their volume decreased by -20.5% to X tons. Overall, imports saw a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 55%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, pimenta pepper imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

China (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main suppliers of pimenta pepper imports to Slovakia, together comprising 85% of total imports.
