The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of polyamide imports to Slovakia, with a combined 71% share of total imports. Belgium, Poland, South Korea, France, the Netherlands and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
