The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Poland stood at +85.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (+82.4% per year) and Germany (+21.9% per year).

The average pressure-reducing iron valve export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 8.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 133%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

For the third year in a row, Slovakia recorded decline in supplies from abroad of pressure-reducing, control, check and safety valves, which decreased by -18.2% to X units in 2022. In general, imports showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, pressure-reducing iron valve imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 19%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), South Korea (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main suppliers of pressure-reducing iron valve imports to Slovakia, with a combined 65% share of total imports. Italy, China, Romania, Turkey, Japan, Hungary, Denmark and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +87.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
