From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, soap in different forms exports fell remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 1,424% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The Czech Republic (X tons), Serbia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of soap in different forms exports from Slovakia, with a combined 58% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +67.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for soap in different forms exported from Slovakia were Serbia ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Hungary ($X), together comprising 66% of total exports.

Imports into Slovakia
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of soap in different forms decreased by -5.5% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, soap in different forms imports dropped to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +43.7% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 33%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined in the following year.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main suppliers of soap in different forms imports to Slovakia, with a combined 77% share of total imports. Ukraine, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of +370.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest soap in different forms suppliers to Slovakia were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), with a combined 77% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Ukraine, Hungary, Spain and Italy, which together accounted for a further 19%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +257.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average soap in different forms import price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -2.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+17.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
