From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, spectacles and goggles imports dropped to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Austria (X units) constituted the largest spectacles and goggles supplier to Slovakia, with a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, spectacles and goggles imports from Austria exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Czech Republic (X units), sevenfold. Germany (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4% share.
